Gary Van Deursen, a recognized leader in the field of innovation and design, founded the company in 2006. He holds over 100 patents (over 70 U.S. patents and over 30 international patents) for innovation and design. He has been a consistent ‘Design Excellence‘ award winner for the Industrial Designers Society of America. As Global VP of Design for Black & Decker and Corporate VP for both Coleman and The Stanley Works, Gary has led global design and innovation teams in four countries.
He is credited with the conception and design of hundreds of successful and highly profitable new product introductions. His ‘Hellium‘ wheelchair design, the world's lightest wheelchair, received the international 2010 RedDot Award for innovation and design, and his Stanley MaxLife Tripod family of flashlights received the Silver Award in the ‘07 edition of Business Week. It was referred to in the Stanley Annual Report as the leader of their 100 new products introduced. He was also responsible for the conception and design of the highly successful SpaceMaker line of Black & Decker kitchen products, the redesign of the Dustbuster, as well as the world’s best selling utility knives, AntiVibe hammers, and FatMax tape measures.
